What it is

Botox is medicine. Not a beauty product.

Botulinum toxin type A — sold as Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau — temporarily relaxes specific facial muscles to soften lines caused by repeated muscle movement. It does not address volume loss (that's filler), skin texture (that's microneedling or laser), or skin laxity (that requires different interventions).

The mistake most clinics make: treating Botox as a sales product, dosed by what the patient will pay for instead of what their anatomy actually requires. Some patients need 20 units in their forehead; some need 40; some shouldn't have any. Conservative dosing means starting lower, evaluating at two weeks, and adjusting at follow-up — not maximizing dose for revenue.

We use FDA-approved products only. We dose based on muscle mass and movement, not on what's on promotion. And we'll tell you if Botox isn't the right call.

Your visit

What a Botox visit looks like.

Four steps, about 20–30 minutes total. The actual injection takes 5 minutes; the consultation and assessment matter more.

— 01

Assessment & dosing

We look at your face at rest and in motion, discuss your goals, and propose a dose. You'll know exactly which units go where before any injection.

~15 min
— 02

Skin prep

Cleanse with alcohol. Topical numbing available but typically not needed — injections are fast and use a fine needle.

~3 min
— 03

Injection series

Series of micro-injections at the muscle points we discussed. Most patients describe it as quick pinches. Less than five minutes total.

Two-week follow-up

Botox takes 3–5 days to start working and 10–14 days for full effect. Your follow-up is included — if any area needs a touch-up, we do it then.

Most patients need 20–40 units total depending on areas treated. We'd rather under-dose and add at follow-up than overshoot.
Forehead (10–20 units)$120–$280
Frown lines (15–25 units)$180–$350
Crow's feet (15–25 units)$180–$350
Brow lift (4–8 units)$48–$112
Masseter slimming (40–60 units)$480–$840

A note on per-unit pricing. Be wary of clinics advertising "Botox from $8/unit" — that pricing typically requires you to commit to a high minimum unit count, locks you into a package, or uses a non-FDA-approved equivalent. Our pricing is the same whether you need 15 units or 50. Ask any clinic for their published per-unit rate and read the fine print.
Is it right for you?

Botox is — and isn't — for everyone.

Most adults are candidates. Some shouldn't have it at all.

A good fit

You're likely a good candidate if…

  • You're 25+ with dynamic lines (visible when you make expressions)
  • You want to soften lines, not freeze your face
  • You're realistic about results — Botox softens, it doesn't erase
  • You're willing to come back every 3–4 months for maintenance
  • You have no neuromuscular conditions
× Not a fit

We'll recommend against Botox if…

  • You're pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have a neuromuscular condition (myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton)
  • You're allergic to botulinum toxin or any product component
  • Your concerns are static lines (lines visible at rest) — those need filler or different treatments
  • You want a dramatic, immediate transformation — that's not what Botox does
  • You've had unsatisfactory Botox results elsewhere — we may suggest waiting until previous treatment fully wears off
★★★★★

"I'd been quoted three times the price at a Manhattan clinic for the same treatment. Bronx Med Spa was honest, conservative, and the results actually look like me — just less tired. I'm a patient for life."

Questions

Botox, without spin.

The questions we get most. Bring anything else to your consultation.

How much does Botox cost in the Bronx? +
Our Botox pricing is $12–$14 per unit. Most patients need 20–40 units total depending on areas treated. A typical first visit ranges $240–$560. We provide written quotes at consultation, before any treatment.
How long does Botox last? +
Most patients see results for 3–4 months from a standard dose. Some areas (frown lines) hold longer than others (forehead). Patients who maintain regularly often find their results lasting slightly longer over time as treated muscles weaken with consistent dosing.
Will I look frozen? +
Not the way we dose it. The goal of conservative Botox is softened lines while preserving natural expression. "Frozen" looks come from over-dosing — typically when clinics treat without proper assessment, or when patients request dramatic effect. We start conservative and add at follow-up if needed.
What's the difference between Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau? +
All four are FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A products. They have minor differences in onset time and diffusion (Dysport spreads slightly more, useful in some larger muscles; Jeuveau and Xeomin are similar to Botox). We select the product based on your treatment goals and history, not based on promotion.
Does Botox hurt? +
Minimally. We use a fine needle (32-gauge) and inject small volumes. Most patients describe the sensation as quick pinches. The whole injection series takes about 5 minutes. We can apply topical numbing if you prefer but it's typically not needed.
How long is the recovery? +
There's no real downtime. You can return to normal activity immediately. We do recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol, and lying flat for 4 hours post-treatment to minimize the chance of product diffusion. Light makeup can be applied after 24 hours.
When will I see results? +
Botox takes 3–5 days to start working and 10–14 days for full effect. Don't evaluate your results before two weeks. Your follow-up appointment is timed for that window.
Can I combine Botox with filler? +
Yes, and many patients do. Botox treats lines from movement; filler restores volume and structure. They address different problems and work well together. Most providers prefer to space them by two weeks when combining for the first time.
